PARKER RANCH INC. APPOINTS NEW BOARD MEMBER

Parker Ranch Incorporated recently announced the appointment of Robert L. Hind III to the Parker Ranch, Inc. Board of Directors. He joins other board members Warren H. Haruki, Timothy E. Johns, Harold S. Masumoto, Randolph G. Moore, Herbert M. (Monty) Richards Jr., Arthur C. Tokin and newly appointed Directors Michael W. Gibson, Chris J. Kanazawa, David H. McCoy and Brendan G. Moynahan.

Parker Ranch, Inc. is the for-profit corporation that owns and operates the assets of the cattle ranch and real property development activities. It was formed in 1995 to manage the for-profit activities of Parker Ranch.

Hind is owner/manager of Daleico Ranch. The Ranch, founded by his father on 9,000 acres of land in the South Point area, has been family owned and operated for nearly 50 years. Hind began managing Daleico following his retirement from Parker Ranch in 2002 where he worked first as livestock manager and later as a Vice President of Livestock Marketing and Ranch Resources. For more than 15 years during his tenure with Parker Ranch, Hind’s responsibilities included cattle and horse genetic development, water, timber and quarry resources, agronomy, physical properties and marketing. Hind is a sixth generation descendant of Parker Ranch founder John Palmer Parker.

“We are very pleased that Robby has joined our Board of Directors,” said Parker Ranch Inc. President and CEO Chris Kanazawa. “With family ties to John Palmer Parker and a family legacy of ranching on the Big Island including nine years as manager of McCandless Ranch, Robbie will be a true asset for Parker Ranch.”

Hind’s community involvement runs deep and began with his graduation from Hawaii Preparatory Academy. He has held chairmanships with and is currently a member of the Mauna Kea Soil & Water Conservation District and the Hawaii Cattlemen’s Association. He is past-president and current member of the Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council, past chair of the Hawaii Beef Industry Council, and a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Hind is past president of the Waimea Family YMCA, an executive board member of the HPA Alumni Association, past board member of Waimea Cowboys Pop Warner Football and a board member of the Kawaihae Canoe Club. He is also a board member of the Paniolo Preservation Society, the Mana Christian Ohana, the Hawaii Forestry Industry Association, a member of the state’s Puuwaawaa Advisory Council, the Nature Conservancy, and the Hawaii and National Rifle Associations.

He earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of the Pacific.
