WAIMEA, BIG ISLAND OF HAWAI\u2032I \u2013 Parker Ranch Inc. Board of Directors recently announced the promotion of William \u201cBill\u201d Maris to the position of Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President effective June 1, 2009.<\/p>\n

Maris joined Parker Ranch, Inc. in November 2008 as its Chief Financial Officer and in January of 2009 was appointed to also serve as interim Chief Operating Officer. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Maris will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ranch and developing and leading business strategy. \u201cWe are pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Maris as COO\u201d said PRI Board Chair, Pete Moynahan. \u201cBill\u2019s experience, professionalism and leadership will help guide Parker Ranch, Inc. as it continually seeks to provide support to the Parker Ranch Foundation Trust and its beneficiaries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maris holds a BS in Accounting, with honors, from the University of Oregon. His experience includes both public and private corporations. \u201cI am honored to have this opportunity to contribute to a Ranch that is part of Hawaiian history. I look forward to working on behalf of all stakeholders as the Ranch takes the next steps on a journey that began 162 years ago\u201d said Bill Maris.<\/p>\n

Maris has been a certified public accountant and served in a variety of senior financial positions on the mainland and in Hawai\u2019i, including agriculture related businesses. Along with his wife Theresa, Maris is active with the Kawaihae Canoe Club and he works with a dedicated group of volunteers who assist with the monthly Twilight at Kalahuipua`a programs at Mauna Lani Resort.<\/p>\n
